** Edwin Santana – Who is focusing on targeting
poverty as one of the foundations for His campaign, which is next week. A
recent Black newspaper article about several candidates found Santana to be
``inspired by his mother,’’ after the untimely death of His father. He is a successful
businessman and ``experienced community leader’’ for some two decades. He has
also served as a mentor for youth in Philadelphia.
***** Fareed Abdullad -
is a man dedicated to stabilizing the community through expanding Black home ownership;
and wants criminal justice reform as part of the work He will do when in office
for the next four years. He has also
taken a strong stand on helping to provide access to mental health benefits;
and helping young boys needing help reaching out of poverty. He is also.
** Isaiah Thomas - is
also a candidate for City Council at- large who is deeply concerned about
students in the Philadelphia School system and who has a strong education
agenda. Part of His plans to help
include achieving viable summer-time work
for young students and improving the quality of the whole education experience by
making sure children don’t have to do their school work in a lead-paint
environment. He has a ``Youth Agenda’’
